Luke Tanzer
Operations Director – RiverStone UK
Mr. Tanzer joined RiverStone UK in 1998 as Head of Run-Off. He then became Head of Workout in 2000 before being appointed to the board in 2003. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the UK operations including the Claims and Reinsurance Departments and he has developed a team of highly skilled and experienced associates who focus on commutations and claim settlements. Mr. Tanzer’s responsibilities include the management of both UK and European reinsurance company portfolios as well as the operations of a Lloyd’s of London Aviation and Non-Marine Syndicate. He has been involved in the resolution of numerous complex and challenging reinsurance issues dealing with insolvent and impaired companies, resolving disputed balances and negotiating major commutation transactions. In 2004, he joined the board of the Association of Run-off Companies (“ARC”), a well established trade association promoting the interests of the run-off sector and since 2006 he has held the position of Treasurer with the Association.
Mr Tanzer is an Economics graduate and prior to moving to England from his native Australia in 1990, he worked in Commercial Lending with Barclays Australia in Sydney. In 1990, he joined Alwen Hough Johnson, a Lloyd’s broker based in London, where he held the position of Assistant Director in both the Claims and Placing Divisions of the company. In 1997, he joined Sedgwick Re as an Associate Director in their Aviation Division.
