Mr. Bomhoff is responsible for all aspects of RiverStone’s Information Technology. He has been with RiverStone and predecessors (Crum & Forster Insurance and Apprise Corporation) since 1983 and has over 30 years in the insurance information technology field. Prior to joining Crum & Forster, Mr. Bomhoff held various technical software development positions with the Prudential Insurance Company.
When Mr. Bomhoff first joined RiverStone in 1999, all of the company’s systems were outsourced. After the acquisition of RiverStone by Fairfax Financial Holdings, Mr. Bomhoff established and staffed an internal IT department consisting of business analysis, programming and infrastructure support areas. All existing systems were brought in house and all systems were replatformed onto a common architecture with shared services and objects, including integrated workflow, reporting, document management and data access. This structure allows for the rapid design, modification, implementation and control of systems and workflows necessary to accomplish RiverStone business objectives, including acquisitions. Mr. Bomhoff’s IT department works closely with other business areas to drive further efficiency, flexibility and cost savings.
